Sotogrande is located about 1 hour from Malaga airport and about 20 minutes from Gibraltar airport. The resort of Sotogrande was one of the original resorts on the coast and has always represented a top reputation in Europe. The toll motorway between Malaga and Algeciras was completed in 2003 and this has made Sotogrande much more accessible.
Sotogrande is home to Valderrama Golf Club, arguably the best golf club in Europe, which hosts the Volvo Masters and was host to the 1997 Ryder Cup. Additional Golf Clubs include: Real Sotogrande, La Reserva, Almenara, San Roque Club and La Canada. The Santa Maria Polo Club hosts the Gold Cup which attracts the high goal polo teams from Europe every August. The beaches, restaurants, international school, windsurfing at Tarifa all contribute to make Sotogrande a top resort in Europe.
Vista de las Aguilas is located well away from the motorway so that while access to Marbella, Malaga, and Gibraltar is quick, there is NO motorway noise, nor can the motorway be seen from the villa or the gardens. Calle Granada is a quiet road, home to some of the finest villas in Sotogrande with many of them, like Vista de las Aguilas, being built on double-sized plots. Many of these private villas are owned by prominent families from Britain and Europe.
